My story began in Ontario, Canada, with a bustling household of 15 kids—yes, it was a full house. Growing up with my single mom, I learned many valuable lessons from her as she supported us by raising purebred Great Pyrenees. Her hard work and care instilled in us kids the principles of honesty and hard work, laying the foundation for my own entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2021, my wife and I responded to a calling and made our way to Greenville, Texas, where I assumed the responsibilities of a pastor. It was in this Texan community that the seeds of our lawn care company, Maple Leaf Mowing, were first planted, ultimately leading us to start Green Frog Web Design.

Step One

The beginnings of Maple Leaf Mowing wasn't the picture of glamour; rather, it was a period of a steep learning curve. Initially, there were many things I just didn’t know. I vividly recall the early days when I didn’t have any tools to sharpen my blades for several weeks, without having any spare blades either. (I didn’t realize how often you needed to sharpen the mower blades.) Those initial stages demanded long hours, accepting lawn care jobs that, in hindsight, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. But through perseverance, we came out stronger on the other side.

Then as our digital marketing strategies gained traction, a pivotal shift occurred. We transitioned from merely accepting jobs to handpicking our clientele. Within 2.5 years, we gathered 89 organic reviews becoming the cornerstone for an increase of high-quality leads. No longer were we engaged in a race to the bottom on pricing; instead, our reputation spoke volumes, attracting clients seeking quality and reliability. The journey from those challenging beginnings to a position of selecting our clients was what prompted me to start our lawn care marketing agency now called Green Frog Web Design based out of Fruitland, Idaho.

Next Phase

As I looked around at the many other lawn and landscape companies, I noticed familiar missteps that I had encountered along my own journey. It dawned on me that many of these businesses faced similar challenges and lacked a strong online presence. That realization started the idea for Green Frog Web Design—a full service lawn care marketing agency design to help lawn care businesses grow.
